This competition continues to be one of the highlights of the primary schools sporting calendar and targets students in years five to seven. Eagles Cup encourages schools to develop interschool sporting fixtures that allow children the chance to play against other teams on a weekly basis.
Schools are helped in these endeavours by the provision of necessary equipment and support materials distributed to all competing schools. At the conclusion of the winter sports season, winning teams are presented with their trophies by members of the West Coast Eagles team.
Competitions are held over the length and breadth of WA, from the Kimberleys, to the Great Southern, to the Goldfields kids can be seen proudly playing for their school.
Last year 11,000 students represented nearly 500 schools, including the first ever all girls division in the Pilbara. Even larger numbers are anticipated this year. Our thanks are extended to WA Newspapers for their continued support of this program.
