Indigenous Leadership Program

The West Coast Eagles, together with principal community partner BHP Billiton, offer Western Australian high schools the opportunity to take part in the their Indigenous Leadership Program, a six session values-based leadership program. The program is targeted at indigenous students from years eight to 10 and focuses on promoting the ‘Five R’s’ value system: respect yourself, respect others, respect your environment, reach out into your community and reach your potential.

Supported by guest presenters from the West Coast Eagles, mentors and various health specialists, the interactive education-through-sport program aims to equip participants with valuable life skills and deliver positive health, lifestyle and educational messages.

Program Structure

The Indigenous Leadership Program is comprised of six sessions, with all sessions held at the participating school.

The content covered in the West Coast Eagles Indigenous Leadership Program also makes it suitable to run as part of your school’s health program.
