Alyce Parker had ten disposals in the first quarter, that really dried up after some tight marking was that a result of a change in game plan?

We didn’t mark her so she got away early, so we sent someone towards her. She ended the game with 26 disposals so she’s still an outstanding player and she played really well. To get that job done and change the mindset of my players to limit her in the second quarter was important to stop their ball movement.

Emma Swanson against her former club was outstanding, she led the team with 23 disposals and kicked a goal. Were you pleased with her performance?

Swanny leads our club really well, not just the team. I’m really happy with what she delivers week in and week out, but I thought she had a few mates helping her out today which is really pleasing for us. There was a lot of players that gave everything they’ve got but our leadership team is led by Swanny and she delivered again today for us.

Update on injuries, Jessica Sedunary in particular?

Yeah they are okay, Sedge is the only injury we will need to follow up whether she’s torn a muscle in her calf or not. It’s nothing more than that, worst case she will be out for a couple of weeks. It didn’t look good at one point so we will take the strain.

It seemed like there was a focus on Cora Staunton, making sure she didn’t run away with the game. How did you go about that this week knowing she is a big weapon for the Giants?

It wasn’t a huge focus for us we know Cora plays the game really well and she’s dangerous when the ball gets inside their forward 50. I thought Sophie McDonald has delivered four weeks in a row for us, she was outstanding she did her homework on her and watch tape and studied how Cora went about it and to her credit she was able to get the job done. We need to stop dangerous players and Cora is one of those we needed to stop today.

Plenty of physicality out there today, maybe a little bit too much at times with some off the ball free kicks. How do you go about reducing that going forward without losing that physical edge?

We love the physical side of the game and the girls have a crack and play hard but when we are giving away free kicks to the opposition inside their forward 50 and inside their front half then it becomes an issue for me. We spoke to the players about staying focused and keep delivering what we’ve done for three quarters and they changed their mindset for that last quarter and stuck to task and ultimately got the win for us.

Big derby next week for you. To come off that with a win must give you plenty of momentum?

Yeah it’s exciting for us, I think that’s the most amount of wins we’ve ever had in a season which is only two so nothing to rave home about. We’ll look to improve that record in the upcoming weeks. It just happens to be we have an upcoming Derby back in Perth against Fremantle and we are going in with a bit of confidence. We’ll look forward to that game on Thursday.

Pretty different game performance from last week’s game. What went well for the side this time round?

I think our pressure around the footy was outstanding and I thought we got a little bit more overlap run with our ball use. Our tackle and hunt is what it came down to and as I touched on before it’s probably the mindset and whether we can go out and deliver. I just went down the list of every player today and I thought that they all had their moments in that regard so when your team is delivering that and not relying on just one or two players you are going to have a performance like that. Our challenge is to do it quarter in and quarter out every week and we’ve got a challenge on Thursday and we look forward to that.

What did you think on Jaide Britton’s debut?

Yeah I thought she had some good moments, taking a mark in the goal square and showing a little bit of composure. What we know about Jaide is she is going to work all day she’s a running machine, she loves the hard work and laid a few tackles for us. To come over here with her family and get a debut interstate was really exciting for her and she starts her AFLW journey, it’s good to see.
