You got within six points early in that last quarter, how did you see the game as a whole?

We gave them a head start in the first minute of the game giving up a 50-metre penalty that didn’t help us but we spoke about a couple of things at halftime that we thought if we get this right we will be in this. I thought we were able to turn it around in the second half, It was just some organisational stuff through our midfield and I thought to their credit they got that right. We scored the same amount after halftime, again we need to fix a few things in that second quarter.

Charlie Thomas was obviously a big factor in that behind the ball. Do you think there might be another Rising Star nomination in the pipeline?

She has to be in the conversation I thought she was outstanding tonight. Not just tonight as well, the last few weeks as well have been really good, so she’s got to be up there for Rising Star for sure. Tonight she grew another leg and took her career a little bit further and played with a bit of poise and a bit of polish. She’s really grown over that halfback role for us this year so she deserves anything that comes her way.

Is that just getting comfortable you think and finding her role within the team.

We’ve tried to simplify it a little bit for her. We threw her around a little bit last year, playing her back and on the wing. We’ve just settled her as a back this year and now working with Rohan McHugh our backs coach, she’s come along way this year so all credit to those two.

How did you see the midfield battle unfolding, Emma Swanson has been leading the team all year?

What we’ve had in the last few weeks is an even contribution from through our midfield. Bella Lewis’s last couple of weeks have been outstanding, Swanny continues to lead our team really well and we’ve got Aish Mac and tonight I though Courtney Rowley took a step forward as well out on the wing. We are getting more contributors on that part of the ground which is great.

There were some parts of the game where skill off the boot let you down?

On occasion it did, we’ve just got to learn when to go quick and when to slow it down a little bit and we spoke about that throughout the course of the game. In the last quarter there were opportunities for us just to go a little bit slower and there were free targets we could of hit and we just rushed it a little bit. It’s a learning for us we will take out of this game.

Emma Swanson hit the scored board again this game, it’s her third time this season. Do you think that’s something she’s added to her game that danger inside 50?

She’s got forward a couple of times and she rotates forward a little bit but she’s good over-head, takes a good mark and she can get forward when the time is right and hit the scoreboard. If our midfield can do that because midfields against us are doing that, it really helps us.

Clearances numbers are really positive but the inside 50s were low. Is that the key turning those clearances into scoring opportunities?

I think there are a few things we can get better at to get more inside 50s but at clearances we were dominant tonight other than centre clearance. But it’s that ball use, little bit of patience where we can build the ball up a little bit more then go inside 50. We didn’t get the mix right tonight hence we were down 19 inside 50s, that makes it really hard to win and it makes it really hard on our defenders as well.

Three rounds left in this season what is left to get out of those three games?

Three wins, that would be nice. That’s what we are about we don’t rock about to any games thinking we aren’t here to lose games of footy we are here to win and we’ve got three really good teams coming up. We are going to go in with confidence and back out girls in and see what we can do.

Any desire to play that disrupter role and make things a little bit hard for the teams in the top eight?

If we win three games, we will definitely disrupt the top eight, that’s exactly what we are chasing. Wins on the board is what we are about and if that’s a disrupter that’s what we will call it.

Any injuries tonight? Swanny came off a little bit sore?

Not sure with Swanny what is was but what I do know about Swanny is if she had a broken leg she’d want to play next week so I think she’ll be fine.
