The West Coast Eagles enjoyed a four-day break from Thursday last week, and look to have come back energised, refreshed and eager to continue their hard work as the 2024 season fast approaches.

Yeo takes it to the youngsters

Experienced West Coast defender Elliot Yeo wound back the clock at today’s training session, giving the youngsters a run for their money. Last week, Yeo received high praise from co-captain Oscar Allen, who stated that Yeo “looked fit, strong and his aggression is unbelievable, it’s something he brings that not many others bring”. Those words rang true on the track, as Yeo was dodging his opponents, weaving through packs and shaking off tackles.

TK back on track

After showing encouraging signs in multiple drills early, Tim Kelly took part in much of the following practice, including running, goal kicking and minimised match simulation drills. It was a sight for sore eyes as he continues to return to full strength from a hamstring strain, an injury he sustained at training a couple of weeks ago.

Williams working hard

Eagles big man Bailey Williams has made it known in recent weeks that he is excited to take on the challenge of moving into a more key-forward type role. He looked right at home in front of goal, his strong body and hands making for an effective target for his teammates, with his thumping kick sailing through the big sticks on multiple occasions.

Brockman kicks a bag

While engaging in light training duties, new West Coast recruit Tyler Brockman put on a show in front of goals, displaying exactly what he is capable of, and what fans can look forward to in the near future. Whether it snapped through, dribbled through or flew threw, Brockman has a keen eye for where the goals are, remaining unbothered with distance, angles or degree of difficulty.
