Thought I would give you an update on the new converts to the West Coast Eagles in the Middle East. I was for the past two years the Chief Information officer for a new telecom operator in Saudi Arabia called Etihad Atheeb with a brand name ‘GO’, a young dynamic Wimax operator targeting the youth broadband market across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

All my IT staff of 45 are under the age of 35 years and contribute way beyond their years and experience, achieving results that will be hard for any future telecom company to emulate.

As part of my Ma-ahsalama (Leaving ) speech in Riyadh I used the West Coast eagles story to signify what had been achieved and in a short period and against some stiff external opposition both on and off the field and what they had to look forward to including the lean years whereby the results and highs don’t seem to be as high anymore which has been the West Coast eagles story over the past 10 or so years. The speech went down well and they could see that unless they stuck together as a team the results will come and they will take adversity or the lean years in there strides.

Cheers
