The West Coast Eagles players went wild on Saturday, hosting 1,000 fans for the Rookie Eagles End of Year Party at Perth Zoo.

The event for the club’s Rookie Eagles members kicked off with Ashton Hams appearing with a 10kg boa constrictor.

The goalsneak joined zoo keepers to hold the boa constrictor for a special presentation and Rick the Rock made sure to stay well away after hearing the snake’s favourite food was small birds and mammals.

Hams nominated Chris Masten as the player most scared of snakes despite his ‘tough stickers,’ with brave members getting the chance to touch the boa constrictor.

Following the presentation, the entire West Coast Eagles squad arrived for a signing session with their young fans.

Nic Naitanui was a favourite with autograph hunters, while Will Schofield drew a crowd to check out his impressive beard.

Even Trisha, the 57-year-old elephant, took the time to check out the action and meet Rookie Eagles members.

When not busy scoring autographs, members enjoyed the chance to test their footy skills at the football speed station, have their face painted and grab free West Coast giveaways.
