Over 700 members joined the club at Movies By Burswood for a free night out under the stars

West Coast Eagles members were treated to a night under the stars on Sunday, enjoying a free screening of the Disney classic ‘The Lion King’ at Bankwest Movies by Burswood.

Over 700 members joined the club at the outdoor venue, equipped with delicious picnics and bean bags, with insect repellent in tow.

West Coast’s inaugural captain Ross Glendinning was on hand to welcome the crowd, while the club’s mascot Rick the Rock also made an appearance.

The cheeky mascot was up to mischief, challenging young fans to running races and judging the best dressed competition, with the winner scoring a $50 Team Store voucher.

Adults didn’t miss out on the fun either, with a raffle draw that helped raise over $800 for Movies by Burswood charities.

The lucky raffle winner took home a 2012 team signed guernsey, while two runners-up scored a captain and coach signed flag and West Coast prize pack.

Before settling in to watch the movie, members were shown a video message from Daniel Kerr, who gave members an insight into the exciting year ahead.

West Coast fans will get the chance to catch up with the club again on Saturday, February 2 at Leederville Oval for the 2013 Fan Day.
