Hey fans,

I hope you have all had a tremendous week! Actually what am I saying, of course you had a good week. After that match on Friday night, what sort of West Coast fan wouldn’t have had a great week?

Let’s briefly reflect on that, shall we? My my. What a match. Am I allowed to say that I may have resigned myself to a loss at three-quarter time? I thought surely the Roos would end up walking away with the win. But alas, footy can be an unpredictable sport, and somehow we managed to stay in the game.

And when NicNat took that mark on the siren, oh dear, I lost my cool guys. I was a mess. But Nic being the champ he is slotted it through and won us the game. Wasn’t that just a magical moment? Strangers were hugging eachother in the stands. People were emotional wrecks, sobbing, cheering, weeping and screaming. And when young Nic ran straight to the fence to high five the fans I thought I might cry.

Not that I cry, I’m tough.

But kids, that’s just what footy is about, isn’t it? Bringing folks together. And winning premierships. That’s a mildly important factor. Actually, it’s mostly about winning premierships. Scrap the ‘bringing people together’ part, no time for that sentimental rubbish. Just get me a beautiful shiny premiership cup please.

Anywho, I digress. Let’s look forward ladies and gents, to Saturday afternoon in particular. The boys have headed over to greater western Sydney this weekend to take on the Giants. Odds would say that we’ve got this locked away, with our recent string of wins and the Giants still being a fairly new side and struggling to hit their stride. But I don’t think we should be discounting GWS, they have Sheeds directing them and he obviously is a man who knows a thing or two about football.

However the season has been a bit tedious for the boys from Parramatta, and last time we headed over to play them on their home turf, we demolished them. So I’m going to go out and say West Coast will win comfortably this weekend, and return home to Perth with another four points.

Go Eagles,

Love Rick
