Members, fans, people of Perth - welcome to the round 11 instalment of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning* Rick's Footy Blog.

I hope everyone is in high spirits today, for the following reasons:

- It's Friday tomorrow;
- It's a long weekend (for WA Day, in case you didn't know why you don't have to go to work on Monday. We're commemorating the founding of the Swan River colony in 1829. Yeah, I know stuff);
- You've got some Monday night football to end your long weekend on a high! And it will be a high folks. Trust me.

Richmond will be a tough side to come up against, I won't lie to you. They're in good form, they've won five of their past nine matches, losing only to the Cats, the Pies, Fremantle and Essendon. All quality sides. And Jack Riewoldt is killing it with his form at the moment.

Also, after their semi-surprising loss to the Bombers last weekend, I think the boys in black and gold may be out to prove something when they come up against us on Monday night.

However, I think West Coast have the upper hand here, and here's why. Our mighty Eagles and Richmond have met at Patersons Stadium 15 times, with West Coast taking away the four points 13 times. That's a fairly strong probability in our favour, I think?

Coming off the back off four consecutive wins. including the huge victory on the road against GWS and the thriller at Patersons against North Melbourne, the West Coast boys are soaring with confidence. Morale is high, spirits are great and the boys are certain that after a bit of a rough start to 2013, they are now on the right track to something special. How do I know that? Because I'm their best friend and they told me.

So guys, I think this weekend will be extra special, and I trust you all to get behind the boys and bring your cheering hats to the game on Monday night.

Have a safe long weekend kids, and go Eagles!

Love Rick
