Young defender Blayne Wilson will make his debut against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday

Confirmation came today, when the final West Coast Eagles squad was released, that young defender Blayne Wilson would make his senior debut against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Wilson, who travelled as the emergency earlier in the season, today boarded the plane for Melbourne as a bona fide member of the team, ready to slip into the sizeable shoes of skipper Darren Glass.

Also on that flight were half-forward Ashton Hams, defender Jacob Brennan and midfielder Jamie Cripps.

And when the team was released, Hams and Brennan were also confirmed in the starting 18, while Cripps was listed as an emergency.

Surprisingly, midfielder Mark Hutchings was left at home, along with Claremont hard nut Patrick McGinnity.

The upshot of all that is that Hams, Brennan and Wilson have been called in to replace Glass (hip), star forward Mark LeCras (arm) and Hutchings, who was omitted.
