It was smiles all round on Patersons Stadium on Monday night, as over a hundred and twenty children hit the hallowed turf for the annual BHP Billiton training night.

As a small gesture of thanks to our Principal Community Partner BHP Billiton, players and staff from the West Coast Eagles took the children of BHP Billiton employees through a range of fun activities, including goal kicking, handballing and tackling.

Chris Masten was right at home entertaining the kids; encouraging one group to gang tackle an unsuspecting Luke Shuey, while Shannon Hurn was ‘king of the kids’ treating the children to a guided tour of the club’s facilities.

Andrew Gaff was also a fan favourite, acting as officiator for the highly popular AFL 9’s games that were taking place.

Following the coaching clinic, kids and BHP Billiton staff gathered around the players for a signing session, with Nic Naitanui the most popular amongst autograph hunters.

Once the event finished, guests were treated to a sausage sizzle and a drink, as well as some great memories and souvenirs to take home.

The West Coast Eagles would like to thank BHP Billiton for their continued support.
