West Coast Eagles veteran Sam Butler says he can’t wait to play in his first WAFL Grand Final on Sunday.

“I’m obviously super excited,” he said.

“It’s going to be great, East Perth haven’t won one since 2002.

“I’ve never played in a WAFL Grand Final before, so I can’t wait.”

Butler also was quick to stop any talk to the Eagles alignment being solely responsible for the Royals sensational season, saying it was wide of the mark.

“It has been controversial, but Peel, Fremantle’s team, came last, so I don’t think that’s the way it’s going to go forever,” he said.

“East Perth played in the Grand Final last year; the East Perth players have been our best players all year, not the West Coast players.”
