In their final week before heading into the Christmas break, the West Coast Eagles squad produced a quality, intense training session at Patersons Stadium today.

As always, the session was highly organised, with players moving from drill to drill seamlessly during an enthusiastic hit out.

A couple of the younger players on the track continue to impress, with Murray Newman, Dom Sheed, Scott Lycett and new draftees Liam Duggan and Jackson Nelson shining.

As well, veterans Sam Butler and Beau Waters, with new captain Shannon Hurn, looked sharp and offered strong instruction, while Josh Kennedy also looked in good fettle.

While the slick ball movement and skill execution were impressive, other encouraging scenes developed on the periphery, with injured quartet Matt Rosa, Eric Mackenzie, Sharrod Wellingham and Elliot Yeo punching out some solid runs around the boundary.

They all look on course to resume training with the main squad early in the New Year.
