Happy New Year rock-bloggers!

Boy am I excited to be back after the Christmas break. I spent most of the time with family and friends, eating and singing and practicing footy.

Now, let’s get into the nitty gritty, as Simmo would say. The boys are back from the break and are tearing up the track. They have been doing lots of running, skills and weights training, getting themselves ready for the 2015 AFL season.

The team also has a new captain, Shannon Hurn. Most of us around the club call him ‘Bunga’ – but don’t ask me why! Any-hoo, Bunga is leading the boys through the tough summer sessions, and he’s doing a fantastic job.

Other news to report since my last blog, I went on a trip to the Kimberley! James from the club and I flew north and visited remote schools and communities, sharing important tips about nutrition, bullying and of course, footy! I’ll tell you what, I’ve still got red dust in my feathers. You can check out all of the photos from our adventure here.

Anyway, that’s probably enough from me.

Go Eagles!

Love, Rick

PS: Just 78 days to go until round one!
