We're back, rock-bloggers!

Today the boys travel south down the freeway to take on the Blues in Carlton. I'm so excited that footy is back I can hardly wait!

The NAB Challenge is a really important tournament for the club, because we get to give our young Eagles a chance to get a feel for AFL level footy and our senior players get to blow the cobwebs out before the season begins. Even though the game doesn't count for AFL points, the coaches, players and staff use it as an opportunity to tune everything up in preparation for round one.

I'm also really excited to get down and see the members and fans in Mandurah. I've been practicing my dance moves all summer and now I'm ready to show them off. What better place than sunny Rushton Park!

Some of the Eagles that I'm really excited about are really young - but a bit older than you guys! Tom Lamb is a tall half forward from Victoria with good marking skills and some big blonde hair. Another Victorian, Jackson Nelson is a rough and tough midfielder who can kick from both sides of his body. We do have another recruite from a lot further away from Melbourne, Paddy Brophy is an Irishman who has turned his gaelic football talents to our game and he looks to be a natural halfback!

Some of our other favourites will also be back on the park, with Shannon Hun, Josh Kennedy and Matt Priddis all getting a run!

Anyways, I'll see you down there! If you can't get to the game, watch it after school on Fox Footy from 4:00pm!

GO EAGLES!

Love Rick
