Well hello rock-bloggers! This post is filled with excitement and sadness. After Friday night’s game in Mandurah, I’m pleased that the boys look in good shape, really gelling well together to get a win over Carlton. On the other hand, I’m devastated about the injury to Eric Mackenzie.

The Big Ezy has a serious knee injury and will need surgery, seeing him on the sidelines for a long while. Our 2014 club champ is a tough player and will work hard to recover from his injury to come back stronger.

Getting back to the team, there are a lot of things to like! Youngsters Tom Lamb and Jackson Nelson have been impressive, making the most of their time on the field against the Blues. The NAB Challenge is such an exciting time of the year, where the youngsters get a chance to see what senior footy is about, testing themselves against the best in the country.

Speaking of the best in the country, Matt Priddis was on fire on Friday! The Brownlow medallist collected 23 disposals and laid seven tackles. Around the club we call him Mr. Consistent, so it’s likely that his start on Friday means great things for the rest of his season.

This weekend the boys travel to South Australia to take on Port Adelaide. Port has named a strong side and the game will be a really good hit-out (excuse the pun) for the Eagles.

Our top draft pick from late last year, Liam Duggan has been named in the side to take on the Power. Duggan had suffered a minor ankle injury, but is fully recovered and is ready for his first taste of West Coast footy! I can’t wait to see him tear up the field. He’s got great skills and a real football brain, expect big things rock-bloggers!

That’s all from me, go Eagles!!

Love Rick.
