West Coast Eagles Development Coach Jaymie Graham’s thoughts on East Perth’s loss to South Fremantle:

“It was a disappointing day for East Perth. We had our opportunities, but unfortunately we didn’t take them. So it was a two-goal loss, it could have been worse because ‘South’s’ didn’t take their opportunities in front of goal, but we felt we were still in the game early in the last quarter. We couldn’t get over the top, given that ‘South’s’ were coming off a five-day break it was disappointing we didn’t run it out.”

Tom Barrass

“He’s in his third game of senior footy and he’s shown some real confidence. He’s attacking the contest and has a real competitive instinct. He’s been working hard on his one-on-one work; he got some really solid challenges against some experienced, solid forwards. He had some wins and he also had some losses but it was a great experience for him.”

Brant Colledge

“He’s finding the footy; I think he had another 29 disposals, seven or eight clearances and five inside 50s, so another solid game from Brant. He’s got his hand up and when his opportunity comes we know he’s in good form.”

Mark Hutchings

“It was good to see ‘Hutch’ back; it is his first game so he’s slowly built to this stage. He showed some good signs on the weekend and he’s starting to get really confident with his body. So hopefully we see some really good progression for ‘Hutch’ and back in the senior side soon.”

Paddy Brophy

“Paddy is continually learning his trade down back, his run and carry out of the backline is elite. It’s great to see him when he does get that ball and he pins his ears back and goes. He’s going to make mistakes but he’s taking the game on and he’s getting better with every week, so it’s good to see his development.”
