West Coast Eagles forward Jamie Cripps says the group has a growing belief their footy can get the job done against quality sides.

Cripps has developed from a nippy small forward to a quality high half-forward who now also spends time in the midfield.

The 23-year-old finished with 2.2 yesterday, and laid seven tackles in a strong performance.

Cripps says the Eagles work rate and pressure were hallmarks of the way they wanted to play their footy.

“We’ve been improving each week on that,” Cripps told the West Australian.

“We think it’s a real strength of ours and it’s just starting to come out in games, which is good.

“It is tough coming over here and playing Port at their home ground with their crowd getting so involved.

“But we knew if we played our way, won the contest and did all our things that we need to do, we’d get the job done.

Cripps, who has booted 12 goals for the season, says the belief in the group is growing each week, and wins against quality opposition only enhance their belief in each other.

“It gives us massive belief,” he said.

“Next time we’re in a close game like that, we’ll know that we can get the job done.”
