The West Coast Eagles could have two senior players ready to resume this Saturday night against Gold Coast, providing further stimulus as the club prepares for another clutch game.

Wingman Matt Rosa and defender Xavier Ellis will be assessed deeper into the week and have been listed as a test, but both would be expected to be available.

They will merely need to get through training to return to match play.

Full injury list

Rosa has missed the last fortnight with a back-related hamstring injury, while Ellis has not yet played this season after a hamstring strain deep in the pre-season series.

Ellis would be likely to resume at the lower level WAFL intensity, while the match committee could make the call to bring Rosa straight back into the senior line-up.

Key forward Josh Kennedy is a test because of a dislocated finger sustained in the second quarter last week, while defender Jeremy McGovern, a revelation this season, will be monitored as he recovers from a corked calf.

Young Eagles playing like men

In further good news, tough midfielder Scott Selwood is listed as being sidelined for another one to two weeks, while forward Jack Darling is a month away from playing and young midfielder Damien Cavka’s waiting time is down to five weeks.

Young forward Tom Lamb is six weeks away from a resumption.
