Eagles fans! How are we this week?

I’ve sure been up and about – I’ve barely stopped dancing since our fantastic win against Port Adelaide on Sunday. How good was that??! Pretty sure I said it was going to be a ripper in last week’s blog. Don’t ever doubt me again, Rock-bloggers!

I’ve got to give props to my mate Lecca for putting in a BOG performance last week. Those were some silky skills on display in really tough conditions. And the Shue-ster! Kicking the sealer. I was on the edge of my nest at that point.

But, as we say in footy, we move on to the next game pretty quickly, and this week we’re back at Domain Stadium for the Saturday night big show. I just love Saturday night games as I get to bust my moves under lights! It looks to be an exciting match, with my mate Mark Hutchings named in the side to take on Gold Coast. I hope you’ll all be there to support the boys.

The other reason to come on down to Domain is the annual Cans for a Cause fundraiser this weekend. I love it, firstly because it means I get to help out WA’s needy with tinned food donations thanks to all you wonderful supporters, but also because I get to catch up with the old crew.

That’s right, a few of our past players (they call themselves the “OWLS” – Older, Wiser, Larger, Slower – larger and slower is right!!) are there to help out. They’ll be at all the main gates, 8, 10, 19 and 26 to collect your tinned food donations, so be sure to get along and say hi. We have a great laugh reminiscing about the old times, but I can’t work out why they keep calling me Eddie instead of Rick?!

Anyway, better get back to training!

Go Eagles!

Love Rick
