The West Coast Eagles will honour the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders to AFL football at this Sunday’s Indigenous Round match against Geelong.

Traditionally an important fundraiser for the Wirrpanda Foundation, the club will once again host volunteers from the foundation for Indigenous Round who will sell several merchandise items, including scarves and jigsaws, to raise much-needed funds.

Volunteers will be located at gates 8, 10, 19 and 26 before the match. There will also be special performances from Indigenous dancers at these gates, so keep an eye out on your way in.

The players will be wearing a new, yellow edition of the club’s Indigenous guernsey when they run out at 2.30pm. Click here to read the story behind the guernsey from artist Peter Farmer.

Fans can purchase their limited edition guernseys at the West Coast Eagles Team Store, or online at westcoasteagles.com.au/teamstore.

In addition, every online purchase of an Indigenous guernsey or football from now until June 6 will go in the draw to win a 2015 Indigenous guernsey signed by all five Indigenous players in the 2015 squad. Click here for terms and conditions.

Supporters will also be treated to a special half-time performance by the Merindas, Australia’s premier Indigenous female Motown trio. The girls will perform their soulful spin on some classics songs for fans.

All the Fan Zone action will be turned on for supporters from 1.10pm at gate 10, so be sure to head on down to Domain early to take part. Instaprint will be back for all your free social media prints, as will HBF Health with their Fit Fans competition. Rick the Rock and a couple of surprise players will also make an appearance.

Don’t forget, supporters can access free wifi thanks to Telstra and their NBN Experience Van, so be sure to take lots of social media pics decked out in all your West Coast gear and use the hashtags #goeagles and #thewestisreconciliation.
