Congratulations to West Coast Eagles supporter Wyn Black who on Wednesday reached the incredible milestone of her 100th birthday.

Injured West Coast Eagles defender Mitch Brown joined Eleni Evangel (MLA), Member for Perth, John Carey, Mayor of Vincent, and Wyn’s family and friends in a special celebration organised by Rosewood Care Centre in West Perth where Wyn resides.

To commemorate her 100th birthday, Mitch presented Wyn with some gifts from the club, including a signed framed print of Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis, and joined Rosewood residents in singing happy birthday, as well as the club song.

Brown paid homage to the club’s passionate fans like Wyn and reflected upon how reaching the 100 year milestone puts injuries like his into perspective.

“I’m a big fan of our fans and the support that they give our team. You can’t put a price on it, especially for supporters like [Wyn] who have been with us the whole way since the inception of the Eagles,” Brown said.

“We love our supporters out here in the west.

“This injury for me is 12 months, I’m only 26 and Wyn turned 100 today. I’ve got a lot of life to catch up to her, so it does put everything into perspective.

“It does make me feel good to come here and put a smile on her face.”

Phil Paddon wound up the celebrations by thanking Rosewood Care Centre for organising such an unforgettable birthday for his mother-in-law, Wyn.

A member of the Seniors Recreation Council, Paddon has been involved with a joint initiative with the SRC and the West Coast Eagles, Eagles in their Prime.

The Seniors Recreation Council and the West Coast Eagles will combine next Wednesday June 17 for the Eagles in their Prime Activity Morning aimed at members aged over 65.  For more information or to book tickets, please click here.
