West Coast Eagles sharp-shooter Josh Kennedy took time out from the lead up to Friday night’s Qualifying Final against Hawthorn to launch the 2015 Ocean Ride for MS.

Held on Sunday October 18, the Ocean Ride for MS is unlike any other bike ride in Perth, with the course following our beautiful coastline from Fremantle to Hillarys.

There are five distances on offer for participants to choose from, offering people of all skill and fitness levels a chance to take part and raise money for the MS Society of WA.

Kennedy says it’s open to everyone to take part and enjoy the fun.

“It is a fantastic event for families and individuals who want to get involved,” he said.

“I have done it for the last couple of years, have done the 30km. For families and kids who want to do it they can start in Scarborough and it is only 10km.

“But you also have the 30km, 50km, 70km and this year they have introduced the 90 kilometre ride for guys in lycra who love riding bikes.”

Kennedy got involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society four years ago and has done the last two ocean rides, although he will miss this year’s event on October 18 because he will be attending teammate Will Schofield’s wedding in Hawaii.

Last year over 2000 people took part in the ride, which raised $440,000 for the MS Society.
