The West Coast Eagles have today accepted Callum’s Sinclair’s request for a trade and have agreed with Sydney on a direct swap which will bring Swans premiership wingman Lewis Jetta to the club.

Jetta, originally from Swan Districts, had indicated his desire to return to Western Australia and nominated West Coast as his club of choice. The two clubs agreed to terms this afternoon and paperwork has now been lodged with the AFL.

Sinclair, originally recruited to the West Coast rookie list in 2013, was elevated to the senior list last year and had a break-out year in 2015. The 26-year-old ruckman played 20 games this season to take his career tally to 29.

In securing the deal to get 26-year-old Jetta to the West Coast Eagles, the club has been able to lock down its two primary trade targets, with the deal to bring former Lions midfielder Jack Redden to the club completed on Monday.

The trade with Jetta means that the speedster, who played his developmental football at Bridgetown, returns to his home State after 127 games with the Swans.

Jetta is a former first round draft selection and a premiership player with the Swans. He has been an important part of the Swans line up over the past 6 years.

Craig Vozzo, General Manager – Football, said the club was delighted to have secured Jetta to the club.

“Lewis offers us some attributes which few players possess, particularly his line-breaking pace and elite kick” Vozzo said. “We are excited with what he potentially adds to our squad and believe he will be ideally suited to our game style.

“We had two key targets going into the trade period and it’s great to now have Lewis and Jack on board”.

“I would like to acknowledge the contribution that Callum has made to the club in the three years he was here. He is a true professional and was an important part of what we achieved here this year. We understand the reasons behind his request for a trade and wish him well for the future at Sydney.”
