New West Coast Eagles midfielder Jack Redden has taken to twitter to express his delight at joining a new football home in the West.

Redden nominated the West Coast Eagles as his club of choice a few weeks ago and was one of the first deals done in the 2015 trade period.

The Eagles parted with their first round selection (#17) for Redden, a high calibre inside midfielder who has played 129 games for the Lions, including a sequence of 112 in succession from his debut in 2009 to the middle of the 2014 season.

Redden is currently away on holiday overseas, but took the time to send out a tweet to the world, saying he can’t wait for next year.

“I’m absolutely stoked to become a West Coast Eagle,” Redden said on twitter.

“Very excited for what’s ahead, bring on 2016.”

Redden also took the time to thank his old club Brisbane for their support during his career.

“Thanks to the Brisbane Lions and all their members for the great support over the past seven years,” he said.

“I’m forever grateful for the opportunity.”

The club is continuing to negotiate with Sydney in an effort to seal the deal to bring lively half-forward Lewis Jetta back to Western Australia.
