Hey rock-bloggers, long time no speak!

It’s been a while since we last had a chat and I have to tell you, I haven’t stopped flying around the place, saying “hi” to friends, fans and family.

It was my birthday last Friday and 400 of my Rick’s Rookies buddies came along to Bounce in Cannington for an afternoon of trampolining awesomeness. I was doing flips, climbing up walls and having a blast with everyone. For a special gift, the whole playing list decided to turn up as well and they were all super-nice enough to let my rookies get a whole bunch of autographs and selfies! If you were (or weren’t) there on the day – click here and take a look!

What a year it’s been! I’ve had such a ball, and I think I’m ready to call 2015 my absolute favourite year so far. Sure, grand final day didn’t turn out as well as we hoped, but the rest of the season was super cool.

It didn’t matter whether the sun was shining, if there was rain coming down in buckets, or if the wind was blowing my feathers into the fourth row. We just kept on winning games! I’ve been chatting to a lot of the boys over the past few weeks and I think they had a great year too. Now we’re looking at 2016 and how much damage we can do on the field. I can’t wait.

So I guess you’re wondering what I’ve been up to since the season ended? Well, I thought that since I flew across the country so much during the season I’d just relax back in my nest. I’ve had a few trips here and there, but mostly I’ve been down at the beach with my towel, my sunscreen and my hat just catching up on some sleep.

I was lying on the golden sand on the weekend and I was thinking about all the awesome games and events this year, and all the high fives I got to give to Eagles fans of all ages. Sure, winning games of footy is completely ace, but meeting my fellow Eagles fans tops the list of the best thing about 2015.

We really had a blast. There was our Fan Day early in the year, held right next door at Kitchener Park, our Rick’s Rookies Coaching Clinic, and how can I forget Rick’s Rookies Training Day and the hundreds of kids that came along? All of them were so much fun!

But the absolute best day this year? It has to be the open training session the boys had in grand final week. I knew it would be a popular day, but to see nearly 10,000 Eagles fans at the ground was just amazing. I was flying around the ground before the doors opened and I couldn’t believe the amount of people that came along.

Anyway, I’ve got to fly. Auzzie wants to catch up for dinner, and I can’t be late.

I’ll be back in the new year, so if I don’t see you before then, have a ripper Christmas. I hope there’s lots of blue and gold under the tree this year!

Rick.
