Over the years we’ve seen some big changes in footy, none more so than what a day at the footy actually means for supporters and families.

For mad Eagles' fan Luke Sirolli, his match-day experience usually entails a day out with the boys, but when his usual companions were unable to make it to the club's round 10 match against the Gold Coast Suns Sirolli locked in a family day out with his wife and two daughters.

“I usually rock up a minute before the game with my friends and head in just before the bounce,” Luke said.

With his usual last-minute routine out the window, Sirolli and his family ventured to Fan Zone outside gate 10 for some pre-match entertainment and activities.

They even spotted a few West Coast players as they entered the club.

“The girls went to Fan Zone for the free face painting, had a jump on the bouncy castle, kicked the footy to see who had the quickest kick, and participated in the handball contest as well,” Sirolli said.

“It was such a great start to the day.”

The fun wasn’t solely reserved for the young ones; Sirolli gave his vocal chords a workout at the Bankwest Commentators Cup.

“I had a go at commentating Josh Hill’s snap from last year’s prelim against Hawthorn,” he said.

The Sirolli's afternoon also involved high fives from Rick the Rock and a meet and greet with Auzzie the Eagle.

“To top off the day, when the Eagles won the game we had players run along the boundary and give the girls – and me – high fives,” Sirolli said.

“It was an absolutely super day. My girls had a ball and I cannot wait to take them again.”

Fan Zone opens 90 minutes before bouncedown at each West Coast Eagles home match.

To head there, simply make your way to gate 10 at the city end of Domain Stadium.
