For the final time in 2016 the West Coast Eagles hosted more than  400 Captain’s Club members in Domain Stadium’s Bill Walker Room for a luncheon ahead of the club’s round 18 game against Melbourne.

Guests were welcomed by MCs Karl Langdon and Tiny Holly who introduced the first guest of the day, West Coast Eagles board member and Crosby Tiles chief executive Peter Carter.

The West Coast Eagles’ football director shared his thoughts on the form of the team and stories of his time as a WAFL player for Swan Districts.

Guests were also given an insight into the budding new club facilities at Lathlain and how they might benefit the Eagles football department.

Following a brief dessert break Tiny and Karl welcomed the second guest for the day, former Demons high-flyer Russell Robertson.

A Melbourne boy through and through, Russell took to the stage in a Demons' shirt to the jeers of some of West Coast’s most staunch supporters.

However, it didn’t take long for him to win the room over with his tales of growing up in Tasmania and big move to Melbourne to chase his AFL dream.

A man of many talents, Russell also spoke of his life after football, including pursuing his musical interests and playing gigs around Melbourne with Kate Ceberano.

After thanking Rusty it was back over to Tiny to draw out the raffle, with the winner taking home a 2016 team and coach signed guernsey.

We would like to thank our Captain’s Club members for their support throughout the season and look forward to seeing you all at our final home game of the 2016 season against Hawthorn on Friday, August 19.
