The West Coast Eagles ran the club’s third annual Tech Savvy Seniors course in conjunction with the Seniors Recreation Council of WA this August.

With the aim of teaching some of the club's more senior members technology basics as part of the Eagles in their Prime program (for members aged 65+), SRCWA course facilitator Martin Yates talked participants through topics including internet security, social media and helped them set up an email account. He also taught them how to use the club’s membership website.

The month-long course is designed for those with little to no knowledge of computers and aims to empower participants with basic computer skills in addition to helping them better utilise the club’s online resources for members.

This year’s course had 11 participants, who also toured the club’s football facilities prior the first of their weekly sessions.

In addition to a look at the club's new gym and players’ lounge,  Eagles in their Prime members got to tread on Domain Stadium's hallowed turf with a run up the players race.

August was a rather fitting month for the course as it helped members partake this year’s online census and purchase tickets for the Eagles' elimination final over the internet.

The West Coast Eagles Football club will be attending the SRCWA’s annual Have a Go Day at the Burswood Parklands on Wednesday, November 9 as part of the Eagles in their Prime program. For more information on events and activities offered for our members aged 65+ please click here.
