Irish Eagle Paddy Brophy placed third in East Perth Football Club’s recent FD Book Medal count.

The West Coast rookie – who was recruited to the Eagles in 2014 from County Kildare, located in Ireland’s Leinster province – polled 32 votes to claim the Royals' third most outstanding player award behind winner Mitchell Fraser (35 votes) and runner up Paul Johnson (34 votes).

The daring half-back cemented his spot in the East Perth's league team on the back of his elite tank and improved ball use and could have had a better season if not for a persistent shoulder injury which slowed him towards the end of the year.

First-year Eagle Tom Cole was also recognised for his efforts by winning the club’s fourth most outstanding player gong.

The 19-year-old played particularly well at the start of the season, so much so that he earned his AFL debut against the Gold Coast in round 10.

He held is spot in the Eagles’ best 22 for the club’s following fixture against eventual premiers the Western Bulldogs before heading back to the WAFL, where he was among the club’s best at the pointy end of the year.

Now retired Eagle Patrick McGinnity also took out the inaugural Jeremy Silcock Award alongside teammate Thomas Hodgson.

The title, similar to West Coast’s Trademark Award, recognises the player who best demonstrates team values according to their compatriots.

Ruckman Jonathan Giles claimed the Royals’ Leading Goal Kicker prize for his 22-goal season.
