AFL 2017 Round 06 - West Coast v Fremantle

Elliot Yeo amassed 32 disposals, 14 marks and six tackles against the Dockers

One of the most satisfying aspects in the early part of the season has been the form of the versatile Elliot Yeo.

For much of the night he found himself opposed to Fremantle star Nathan Fyfe and he was simply outstanding – both at half-back and through the midfield.

On a night where the Ross Glendinning Medal could have gone to any one of three West Coast players – the others being the eventual winner Josh Kennedy and Jeremy McGovern – Yeo was a key factor in the triumph.

Like Kennedy (11 marks) and McGovern (13), he dominated in the air and dragged down 14 marks.

His propensity to take the game on, often taking a strong grab and then hitting the ground athletically to push off on a line-breaking run, helped him accumulate 32 possessions and continue his bright start to the season.

He and Luke Shuey have probably been the players who have been most consistent in the first six rounds and have been able to elevate their games to another level.
