Chris Masten says he needs to do more than accumulate countless disposals to win his way back into West Coast's starting side.

The 28-year-old amassed a game-high 34 disposals, 16 contested possessions, seven clearances, five tackles and four inside 50s during East Perth’s 32-point defeat to Subiaco at Leederville Oval on Saturday.

But most importantly, Masten hit his intended target 71 per cent of the time, which he later revealed was a priority key performance indicator heading into the contest.

“Simmo knows what he wants from me and I’ve got to deliver on that,” Masten told The West Australian post-match.

“I’m always good with my work rate and that comes naturally, but lots of other things outside of that, a bit of composure and consistency over four quarters and from week-to-week.”

Masten didn’t know if he had done enough to warrant a West Coast recall, but he might be in the selection frame for Saturday’s clash against Melbourne depending on the outcome of Luke Shuey’s Match Review Panel hearing today.

Regardless, Masten vowed to keep improving so he would be considered when an opportunity presented itself.
