AFL 2017 Round 16 - West Coast v Port Adelaide

Luke Shuey is in line to play the last sporting event at Subiaco Oval

West Coast midfielder Luke Shuey has joined the Virgin Australia International Rules squad ahead of Australia’s first clash with Ireland at the Adelaide Oval on November 12.

Several Eagles were ruled out of the series due to injury, but Shuey’s addition means there will be at least one West Coast representative in the side.

Shuey was one of six players added to the squad today. His inclusion means he is also a chance to feature in the final sporting event at Subiaco Oval, the second leg of the series on November 18.

Hawthorn swingman Jack Gunston, Melbourne defender Neville Jetta, Carlton veteran Kade Simpson, plus North Melbourne bookends Ben Brown and Robbie Tarrant were added to the extended squad.

The squad will meet in Adelaide next week, when a captain and leadership group will be decided on.

Brad Scott and Ross Lyon will be assistant coaches.
