Andrew Embley: Pick 57, 1998 National Draft

One of the greatest Eagles of all time, Andrew Embley remarkably incredibly slipped through the fingers of every club, numerous times, before West Coast took a punt on the rangy Swan Districts' wingman with pick No.57 in the 1998 draft.

What a punt it turned out to be.

‘Embers’ will forever be remembered for his Grand Final day heroics in 2006, when he took out the Norm Smith Medal thanks to his 26-disposal, six-mark and two-goal effort in the Eagles' one-point triumph.

Embley was a true all-rounder, able to play both tall or small.

He was the runner-up in the club's leading goal-kicker award in 2003 and 2006, and finished his career with 250 games and 216 goals to his name.
