Mark LeCras: Pick 37, 2004 National Draft

The Eagles recruiting staff saw potential in Lecras that others overlooked and pounced when he was still available in the third round at pick No.37.

Lecras, a two-time club leading goal-kicker, has played 196 games and kicked 409 goals.

He currently sits at third on the Eagles’ all-time goal-kicking list behind only Josh Kennedy and Peter Sumich.

The half-forward also earned all-Australian selection in 2010 and took out the West Coast Eagles Club Champion Award in the same year.

He has booted at least 30 goals for the past eight seasons.

With the benefit of hindsight, LeCras would have been snapped up earlier in the draft.
