The Eagles hit the basketball court this morning, continuing to fine-tune their skills ahead of another premiership season.

Sessions on basketball courts have been a staple of Adam Simpson’s pre-season program since arriving in 2014, allowing the players to get a different look at training sessions and break up the monotony of pre-season training.

“It’s a great opportunity for the boys to train indoors, in a closed environment,” midfield development coach Luke Dwyer said.

“Certainly a time where we can work on some basic fundamentals, it also gives the players a bit of a break from training on a main ground, certainly without boots on; they can train in their joggers.

“We can keep the groups smaller so they get a lot more touch.”
