East Perth will have 18 West Coast-listed players to choose from for its blockbuster clash with Peel at Leederville Oval.

Sunday’s stoush with Fremantle’s WAFL affiliates will feature the return of versatile big man Nathan Vardy, who suffered an adductor injury during a pre-season practice match against the Dockers in March.

Vardy will return via the Royals’ league team, albeit on limited minutes.

Two other developing Eagles will also play their first games for the year against the Thunder.

Rookie draft selections Ryan Burrows and Tony Olango will take to the field with East Perth’s reserves team after overcoming their own ailments.

Burrows’ debut in black and blue was stalled due to a bout of sickness followed by a procedure to remove his wisdom teeth, while Olango has been developing his strength after arriving at West Coast with a pre-existing knee injury.

Like Vardy, the pair will be managed against Peel’s second side.

Brendon Ah Chee and Oscar Allen will continue their comebacks following impressive debuts for East Perth last week, while the availability of Fraser McInnes, Will Schofield, Tom Cole, Jack Redden, Jackson Nelson, Mark Hutchings, Willie Rioli and Jake Waterman will not be known until 3pm today when the Eagles confirm their final 22 for Western Derby 47.
