Dual Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy, the club’s third-most prolific goal kicker of all time Mark LeCras and in-form forward Jack Darling have been named in the starting 18 to take on the Magpies at the MCG.

Kennedy returns following a three-week layoff with a leg injury and Darling is poised to lace up the boots for the first time since injuring his ankle during West Coast’s round 11 triumph over St Kilda at Optus Stadium.

But it is LeCras’ inclusion that is most surprising given medical staff thought he might be sidelined for more than a month after incurring a wrist injury against the Bombers three weeks ago.

The crafty goal sneak recovered quicker than expected from a minor procedure and commanded selection with several strong showings on the training track this week.

At this stage the only player omitted from the team that defeated Greater Western Sydney last week is ruck-forward Nathan Vardy.

Midfielder Dom Sheed and second-year forward Jake Waterman are in contention for a recall after being named on the Eagles' extended bench alongside Oscar Allen, Daniel Venables, Scott Lycett, Brayden Ainsworth, Mark Hutchings and Brendon Ah Chee.

The club will confirm its final 22 to play the Pies at 3pm tomorrow.
