When Josh Kennedy went down in round five against Greater Western Sydney clutching his elbow, everyone held their collective breath.

Then in the lead up to the following week’s clash with Port Adelaide the rumour mill swirled back and forth from ‘nothing to see here’ to ‘he’s out for the year’.

Kennedy played that week and hasn’t looked back since; saying his elbow now feels 100%.

“It’s feeling good, I dodged a bullet there,” Kennedy told The Sunday Footy Show.

“I thought we had to go in for surgery and it was all done, but it was all in place.

“I’ve just been taping it, each week it seems to be getting stronger and I’m able to do some more stuff in the gym these days.

“So it’s feeling pretty good.”

While Kennedy sits atop of the Coleman Medal leader board with 62 goals for the year, he joked it’s his prowess in another sport he enjoys over summer that may be affected more.

“No surgery at the end of the year, the surgeon said I might just have really bad Tennis Elbow,” he said.

“It might stuff up my slice in the off-season, but I saw the surgeon after the game (on Saturday night) and he said it’s all pretty clear.”
