The West Coast Eagles made a very special visit to Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday to visit brave kids who will be spending their festive season in hospital.

Players Matt Rosa, Mark Hutchings, Luke Shuey, Brant Colledge, Dom Sheed, Dylan Main and Will Maginness headed to PMH to wish the patients and their families a very merry Christmas.

They were joined by Father Christmas himself, who led the Eagles in giving the kids at PMH early Christmas presents and to spread some festive cheer.

Despite having his 2013 ruined by injury, Luke Shuey said that the visit to PMH helped put the daily demands of an AFL footballer in to perspective.

“It’s tough to think about sometimes, some of these kids won’t be at home with their families over Christmas, which is really sad,” he said.

“I had a bad run with my body this year, but it really isn’t anything compared to some of the hardships the children have been dealing with at PMH.

“It’s always a great time here, we love coming along and spending the time.”
