The skies were a little grey and the weather may have been a little dreary, but the spirits of the friends and families of our Rookie Eagles members couldn’t have been brighter yesterday at the Rookie Eagles Holiday Party.

Despite the wet conditions, over 1000 children and their families rolled into Patersons Stadium to watch their heroes train, grab a sausage sizzle, listen to music and get autographs and photos taken with their favourite West Coast Eagles players.

The entire squad was in attendance to join in the fun and meet the members who’ll take the club into the future, as well as take some pointers on how to beat the Dockers this Sunday!

Eagles superstar Nic Naitanui says it was a great day with the kids.

“There was a great energy inside the stadium, it certainly made training more fun.

“When we saw it was raining we thought it might scare people off, it was unbelievable to see so many people there braving the wet conditions, it was very inspiring.

“Hopefully we can repay them with a win on Sunday,” said Naitanui.

Rick the Rock Eagle was in attendance to pass on some dancing tips and to entertain the party goers, and Micro the Eagle was also a fan favourite and loved all the attention he got from our Rookie Eagles members.

The next Rookie Eagles Party will be the Christmas Party at Perth Zoo on December 14.
