West Coast stars Beau Waters, Sam Butler, Luke Shuey and Tom Swift were at the mercy of the Australian men’s hockey team today, as they underwent hair colouring and shaving for Cancer Council WA's annual Me No Hair event.

The Kookaburras, who are ranked number one in the world and are the hot favourite to take gold in London later this year, joined Waters, Butler, Shuey and Swift in getting their locks shaved off or spray-painted, all in the name of charity.

Eagles vice-captain and Cancer Council WA ambassador, Waters said the event was a great one to a part of and he is proud of the club’s long-standing relationship with Cancer Council WA.

“We’ve been involved with Cancer Council WA for eight years now, and in that time more than $700,000 has been raised, through events like Me No Hair as well as our annual Dig Deep match day.

“I have to say I’m very proud to be the club’s ambassador for Cancer Council WA.

“Today has been great, to have the boys here supporting the cause, and to have the Australian hockey team here taking some time out from their London preparation is really great to see.”

Me No Hair encourages people to fundraise for Cancer Council WA in return for shaving or colouring their hair as a symbolic show of support for people living with cancer.

The West Coast Eagles has been involved in Me No Hair since 2005, with players and staff volunteering to change their hair colour or go the close shave.

Me No Hair runs all year long, so people can sign up any time to shave their heads or colour their hair. To register, head to cancerwa.asn.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
