The children at the Princess Margaret Hospital had their days brightened on Tuesday when West Coast stars Mark Nicoski, Matt Rosa and Tim Houlihan paid a visit to the bedsides of some ecstatic young Eagles fans.

The players spent time with children from the burns unit as well as the surgical and orthopaedic wards handing out West Coast Eagles merchandise, signing posters and having their picture taken with excited young Eagles fans, and sometimes, even more excited parents.

Making his first visit to Princess Margaret Hospital, young Eagles wingman Tim Houlihan said he really enjoyed the experience and was inspired by the courage the children displayed.

“It’s been great to come down here and see the smiles on the kids’ faces. I think anything we can do to help out is really important,” Houlihan said.

Since 2005, the West Coast Eagles has been a proud partner of the PMH Foundation, helping to raise more than $160,000 for sick and injured kids in Western Australia. These funds have helped purchase vital medical equipment including a patient cooling machine for the paediatric intensive care unit, an overhead warmer for the neonatal ward, a cardiac monitor for the infants ward and theming of the sensory room.

Regular visits by the Eagles players are made to the hospital throughout the year and are led by club ambassadors for the Princess Margaret Hospital, Nicoski and Rosa.
