In just his second year at the club, small defender Jamie Bennell continues to impress teammates and coaches on the training track this pre-season.

After slugging out 57 games with the Demons, Bennell arrived at the club last year fresh off a knee reconstruction that sidelined him for the tail end of the 2012 season.

Through plenty of hard work and gritty determination, Bennell returned to football at WAFL level, notching 12 league games for Swan Districts.

With his sights set on a debut game for West Coast in 2014, Bennell has jumped out of the blocks in the right direction, training with the main group since pre-season commenced in October.

Champion ruckman Dean Cox also took part in several drills with the main squad today, while finishing with countless solo sprints around the Patersons Stadium boundary.

The six-time All-Australian and 2006 Club Champion looks in tremendous shape heading into the season.

Jacob Brennan took part in a few light activities, as the defender has his sights set on the Alter-G running machine a little later in the week.
