So did you all enjoy last Sunday’s game as much as I did? Just a cheeky 49-point victory, no big deal! A special mention goes to Josh Kennedy for his solid goal-kicking effort, booting seven majors for the match; Nic Naitanui for that stellar swift goal in the fourth quarter;  and Cox, Priddis, Rosa, Gaffy and Scotty Selwood for all just being generally exceptional.

A great effort by the boys to kick off the season, and on away turf as well. Well done fellas, I couldn’t have done a better job myself.

Now let’s look ahead at this weekend’s game - this Saturday we take on the Demons at Patersons Stadium at 2.40pm.

Now some might say that this is an easy game for ol’ West Coast and that we’ve already got this one in the bag. Sammy Newman told the Demons to not to even bother getting on the plane to Perth. But I don’t think we should be underestimating the Dees, after all, who was the footy world writing off this time last season? That’s right, us. We weren’t expected to impress in 2011 whatsoever, and then look what happened!

So let’s not get complacent guys, this is an important game, and here’s why.

The Demons are going to be fired up. After a tough few weeks for their club on and off the field, I’m gonna bet that they’re ready and raring to prove a point. Character needs to be shown from the Demons, and this is the perfect opportunity to show it.
So let’s not get ahead of ourselves!

But in saying this, I’ll be honest - looking at how we demolished the Doggies last week, and on away soil as well, I have to say I’m fairly confident for Saturday’s match. If we can put on a show like that away from home, think about how stellar we’ll be on our own turf.

So guys, my tip is with the mighty West Coast Eagles this week!
