Scans have today revealed the club’s worst fears with star forward Mark LeCras ruled out for the 2012 season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
LeCras, the 2010 Club Champion and All-Australian, has been an integral part of the club’s forward structure in recent seasons and had enjoyed an outstanding pre-season campaign.
But he twisted his knee awkwardly during a routine training drill on Thursday morning.
He was sent for scans later in the day, with those results this morning revealing a ruptured ACL.
LeCras, who has kicked 234 goals in his 100-game career, will have surgery next week.
