West Coast tough nut Beau Waters has suffered yet another setback after missing almost two full seasons due to an elbow injury.

After a week of tests, the rugged defender will undergo an arthroscopy on his left knee this evening and is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Named best clubman for the 2009 season in recognition of an important off-field role, Waters has not played an AFL game since round 10, 2008 and first injured his elbow during a WAFL match for Claremont.

When the injury did not respond as expected, Waters opted for surgery which saw him ruled out of season 2009 before it had begun.

The 23-year-old returned for the pre-season campaign last month in impressive shape and looks to play a key role in his club’s 2010 assault.
