The incredible network of support shared by the football family in WA has perhaps never been more clearly demonstrated than it was at last night’s Football Family Fundraiser.

When tragedy struck Chris ‘Tex’ Perkin, West Coast physio and North Beach Amateur Football Club legend, the two clubs united and organised a fundraising event to help make life a little easier for their respected colleague and teammate.

Over 1,200 guests flocked to Burswood’s grand ballroom to compete in a hard-fought quiz battle, as well as bid on the hundreds of auction items which were donated by organisations Australia-wide.

On behalf of Chris and his family, the West Coast Eagles would like to thank everyone who attended or contributed in any way to the success of what proved to be a moving and memorable evening.

Part proceeds from the event will go towards SIDS and Kids WA as requested by Chris. This organisation aims to save babies’ lives through education and research and provide grief support for those affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child from conception onwards.
