Dynamic small forward Mark LeCras took time out from morning training on Friday, November 13 to get involved with Therapy Focus’ Symphony of Sunflowers campaign.

LeCras met four-year-old Therapy Focus patient, Taylor Green, who suffers from Spina Bifida who has inspired LeCras to promote the campaign.

Symphony of Sunflowers encourages people to plant a sunflower in recognition of the campaign’s aim to improve inclusion of all children with a disability.

Taylor was delighted to be able to meet one of her favourite Eagles player and was thrilled when LeCras gave her a big hug.

“These children deserve to be treated and accepted like everybody else and this program is a step in the right direction to making this a reality,” said LeCras.

“It’s a great event because not only is it fun, but it will help the community recognise the abilities of all children.”

LeCras urged everyone to get involved by purchasing a Symphony of Sunflower Seed Kits for $7.95 from metropolitan Rick Hart and Waldecks stores.

Purchase a kit and you could win a $10,000 garden makeover thanks to the Garden Gurus, or one of five $1,000 garden prizes.

The sale of the sunflower seeds will assist Therapy Focus to provide specialised aid and equipment to children with disabilities and help them be included at school and in the community.
